The Last Harvest

Hello...

So, I've been in my head A LOT lately.

My husband created this “From the Desk of Katrina” blog, so... here goes.

Lately, my mind has been consumed with one thing.

Over all the years that I've known of God, wandered from God, come back to God, and now find myself consumed by God, one single thread of thought has begun consuming me as well:

The Last Harvest.

Just think about it.

From Adam until now, at any given point in human history, we probably have the largest number of human beings alive on the planet at the same time.

More than eight billion souls.

Those are A LOT of humans to be fighting over.

And who's fighting, you ask?

Satan.

He doesn't sleep. His objective isn't multifaceted or weak. He wants to do one thing and one thing only: take as many human beings into eternal damnation as possible.

Why?

He failed at trying to be God, so now he wants to hurt Him with the time he has left.

And the population on this planet presents an enormous harvest of humanity within reach.

So what is the Church doing?

At best, many of our hearts have become ambivalent. At worst, we simply don't care enough about the lost.

It doesn't faze us to pass people every day at the grocery store, at work, at school, on the street—or even inside our churches—who are completely disconnected from God and, apart from Christ, headed toward an eternity without Him.

We go to church each week, grab our latte from the coffee shop that most churches seem to have these days, sit through a 45-minute-to-an-hour sermon, laugh with some people we know, and head out the door into another week.

Or worse yet, we simply stay home and watch from a screen.

We have become the epitome of “the frozen chosen”—asleep in the light.

And oh, how the heart of God must grieve.

Satan doesn't care how many churches there are in America or around the world.

He doesn't even care if those churches are truly teaching about Jesus.

He cares whether we are AWAKE.

Sadly, many of us do not feel God because we aren't awake.

We are slumbering beneath the blankets of comfort and convenience while a sick and dying world is doing just that... Dying.

I simply hurt a lot now.

I spent time asking God to show me His heart, and now everywhere I look, I see sheep without a shepherd.

Every one of us in the Body of Christ has a sphere of influence. Every one of us has been given gifts and talents that can become our “sickles” in the harvest field.

Mine are singing, writing books, and media.

That is the WHY behind Lima Media Group.

It is our sickle.

And we are sharpening it every day through prayer, through stewardship of the gifts God has given us, and through sharing the Gospel by whatever means He puts into our hands.

For years, I've had this hunger to “pull back the veil” so people could see what is really happening behind—and intertwined with—the reality we see every day.

We are not the only ones here, folks.

There is a battle raging around us.

And we are living in a time when an enormous harvest of human souls hangs in the balance.

We must shake ourselves awake.

We must cry out to God for a manifest move of His power through us to accompany the Gospel we proclaim.

We must ask God:

Let revival start IN us.Let awakening move THROUGH us.

And let it reach the world.

That has been the cry of my heart for a long time now.

And somehow, it gets louder every day.

My prayer is that you would join me.

That the Church would unite—not as a collection of fractured denominations competing with one another, but as Christian brothers and sisters standing beneath one banner, serving one Lord: Jesus Christ.

Jesus said:

“The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”

The question is:

Are we awake?
